2011 Hurricane Irene

Winnisquam Marine is experiencing Hurricane Irene right now. The Marina is open. We have strong winds and rain with the worst to be about 11am-2pm today. Perhaps sustained 50 mph winds. We have cleared our docks. Many of our customers boats have come in and are now stored up in sheltered areas. More details and pics later...

08-28- 11 9AM- OK, Happy to announce that if you had your boat pulled and stored for the storm, it was money well spent! It is raining very hard and the wind is blowing it sideways. More to come...

08-28-11 12:48PM- More wind and rain. Just headed down to Home Depot. A bunch of boats getting banged up along Rt. 3 by the Rodeway Inn. The wind is from the southeast now.

08-28-11 6:58PM- Still a little windy and it's drizzling out. Looks like the storm is pretty much over. The Lake level went up a foot plus. Good thing the boats were out. The wind shifted from NW to SE and the west shore saw the worst wind. We had one boat come in today because their dock was pulling out and their PWC had come off the PWC lift. Didn't see another boat on the lake all day till just now, the Marine Patrol boat just headed up north. We took care of a bunch of chores that we usually don't get to do around the Marina. Replaced 3 fluorescent light ballasts in the showroom and 32 bulbs that were the wrong color temperature. So- it was a brighter day at the Marina, even with the hurricane brewing outside.

08-28-11 7:26PM- Now Marine Patrol is headed south back to their dock. Must have been a false alarm. Pretty windy/wet out there to be driving around. Those guys do a great job on our lake.

08-29-11 12:06PM- Winnisquam Marine is putting the boats back in. It's sunny out !!!!
